Vintage Rose Nails

Hello :)  I have been wanting to try a vintage rose design for the longest time but never was brave enough !!  So this might not be pretty :)

The base color is China Glaze Pelican Gray - a light grey with subtle silver shimmer - I love this shade very much !!  For the roses, I used China Glaze Adventure Red-y for the first drop of polish and OPI Sparrow Me the Drama as the second drop, then just swirl them with the smallest dotting tool - like the dry marbling method.  As for the leaves, I used Julep Popova.  Let's take a look at these photos ...
I was going to add glitter and some rhinestones, but then I couldn't picture it in my head of how it would look (might even ruin the whole manicure!) so I skipped them.  As my first try, what do you think?

Thank you for dropping by :)

Oh you humble grl, you. These look fantastic, especially for your first time! Do you know if the China Glaze is part of their core line? I have been looking for a not stark white white (if you know what I mean) for awhile with no success. This may just fit the bill.

Not sure if Pelican Gray is part of their core line but I searched on Amazon and it's still there. I just love love love this shade! Thx Tina :)

Omg these are the best rose nails ever! I've never tried them because I'm sure I'd screw it up, but WOW what a good idea!

Vicky Boombastic Nails said...

That was exactly what I was afraid of - screwing it up !! Thx Jessie :)

Nice floral nail polish idea and I think it will be more beautiful in a black background.

Really great rose, I tried this but couldn't get the pretty petal effect!

Just don't swirl it too much - you don't want to mix the colors :). Thx Annie Susie :)
