Hello :) Today's AIS theme is Tape and Stamp. Well this manicure is pretty simple but took a lot of work. The colors used were Barielle U-Concrete-Me - grey, OPI Alpine Snow - white and piCture pOlish Black. The stamping plate was Cheeky CH23 using Konad special black plus striping tapes in silver.
On the accent nail, I started with 2 coats of Alpine Snow, stamped then used scotch tape to cover the image part and painted U-Concrete-Me. Lastly, silver striping tapes.
On the rest, I started out with U-Concrete-Me from the cuticles to almost half of the nail, painted Alpine Snow, a coat of Poshe (topcoat) then striping tapes for the black line painted with piCture pOlish Black. Lastly, silver striping tapes.
This mani took a while because I had to wait for each layer to dry then on to the next step. Even with the poor stamping job, I wasn't going to redo it again !! This is what happens with Konad special polish both black and white - at least to me, they never work well.
For those who asked me about how I apply the striping tapes .. Firstly, I cut pieces of strips (more than I will need,) because the glue comes off after a few uses. Then I placed them where I want, then cut the ends with a pair of eyebrow scissors. Be sure to topcoat your mani before placing them, otherwise they won't stick. Apply topcoat and while it's still wet, gently press down the ends with a toothpick or a small size dotting tool. I hope this helps :)
On the side note, I just created Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter accounts. I haven't figured out how to use those yet LOL !! You could find those buttons on the right sidebar.
What do you think? Thank you for dropping by :)
