OMG Nail Strips Review

**press samples**

Hello :)  Hope everyone in the US is having a great long weekend :)

Today I will be reviewing a couple of sets from OMG Nail Strips.  These nail strips are made with real nail polish.  I'm sure by now that you know I'm pretty obsessed with nail wraps/strips, so I was quite excited when OMG Nail Strips contacted me :)

Application was very easy, just like any other nail wraps/strips.  Here's their tutorial provided on their website and application instructions are on the back of the packet.  Although it didn't say to apply a base coat, I did it anyway.  I wanted to protect my nails from the glue since I've never tried this brand before.  These strips are flexible but not flimsy, I didn't even break any.
Each packet comes with 14 nail strips with different sizes.  There's a clear film on each strip which you remove before application.
The first set that I'm going to show you is Black Floral Pattern which was one of the 2 sets I chose.
Very cute design and these pictures are shown with a coat of top coat (Cult Nails Wicked Fast)
There were some wrinkles due to the curves of my nails but the top coat smoothed most them all out.  You could still see some wrinkles on my middle finger but it wasn't noticeable in real life.
Let's talk about my experience on this set before I move on to the next set.  Per their application instructions: "After you have applied all ten polish strips, take a cotton ball that has been dipped in polish remover with the excess remover wrung out, and swipe each nail 1-3 times, paying special attention to the sidewalls, tips and cuticle area. This step is especially important, as it melts the strip to your nails, allowing for longer lasting wear" ... I tried this on my right hand, it immediately "melted" some of the tips away, so I completely skipped this step on my left hand.  Starting on the 2nd day of my 5-day durability test, little pieces came off from the tips and sides on both hands.  I thought it might have been the top coat (Cult Nails Wicked Fast) so I decided to try with another top coat for the next set.

This is Musical Stars and this time I used Nail Tek Quicken as the top coat.  I originally chose a different set but it was out of stock so they sent me this one, no big deal, still a cute design.
I'm still wearing this as I type this post & it's the 3rd day.  Hardly any tip wear and it still looks as good as new durability wise.
I really thought I found the right top coat, however, wrinkles showed up the very next day on 8 nails.  They look like bubbles too.
It was recommended from the PR that I use OPI base and top coats but I don't use them, so I'm not sure if they 'match' ...

Overall, I'm still quite impressed regardless of the top coat reaction.  I change my nail polish every so often so the durability doesn't really bother me.

You should totally check them out as they have many cute designs.  Here are some links to stay connected with them;  OMG Nail Strips website, Facebook & Instagram.

What do you think?  Thank you for dropping by :)
